Erie Man Sentenced to Prison for Crack Cocaine Distribution

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, November 25, 2009, that Marcus Dupree Knight, a resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Erie to 30 months’ in jail on his conviction of violating federal drug laws.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Knight, age 23.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini, Knight possessed with intent to distribute and distributed over 80 grams of crack cocaine.

Mr. Cessar commended the EAGLE task force, which is comprised of members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Knight.
