Armed Robbery of a Garda Armored Car
FBI Philadelphia December 08, 2011 |
The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subjects responsible for the armed robbery of a Garda Armored Car yesterday.
The robbery occurred at approximately 12:00 noon as the Garda employees were making a delivery of cash to a bank located at the corner of 4th and Tabor Streets. Two of the robbers, one armed with a shotgun and the other with a semi-automatic pistol, approached a Garda employee, brandished the weapons, and demanded cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subjects fled in an early to mid 2000’s model year maroon four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, with tinted windows, driven by a third person, and were last seen headed eastbound on Tabor Street.
Garda is offering a reward of “up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of the stolen funds and the arrest and conviction of those responsible. The company reserves the right to allocate the reward among multiple sources of information.”
The first subject is described as a black male in his early to mid 20’s, 6’ or taller, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a mask, and armed with a shotgun.
The second subject is described as a black individual in their early to mid 20’s, 5’8” to 5’10”, thin build, wearing jeans, a white belt, a “PUMA” hooded sweatshirt and armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
There is no description available for the third subject, who was the driver of the getaway car.
