Question 1: B, a highly confidential new soda product. An executive administrative assistant at Coca Cola stole the sample and some detailed plans about the product and passed them off to an accomplice. That individual contacted Pepsi and tried to sell it “detailed and confidential information” about Coke products. Instead, Pepsi did the right thing and called the FBI…and we set up a sting that nabbed the two individuals and a third accomplice.

Question 2: D, the process for making auto parts out of powdered metal. In that case, a high-ranking sales executive of an auto parts manufacturer set up a new company to help Chinese businesses compete with her former employer. She got help from a former metallurgist at the company and her husband, a senior engineer who was still working there and used his position to secretly steal confidential information.

Question 3: The operation to shut down the namgla.net website was part of our Innocent Images National Initiative against child pornography. The site advertised and provided direct links to child-pornography websites. The investigating team included agents and task force officers in 20 states and led to subjects being identified in 27 foreign countries. The answer is D.

Question 4: A, the transportation system in the New York-New Jerseyarea. A major break in the case was the arrest of a key suspect by Lebanese authorities. Question 5: We recovered 150 Pre-Columbian artifacts that had been smuggled into the U.S., so the answer is D. The art in the case was estimated to be 5,000 years old and originated in Ecuador.

Question 6: Among the changes announced by Director Robert Mueller was the creation of a Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate (Answer A). Heading this new directorate is Dr. Vahid Majidi, who led nuclear weapons research and counter-proliferation programs at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Read more.

Question 7: Late last month, six defendants pled guilty to arson and other crimes they committed in the name of the Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front—or ELF and ALF (Answer B).
