Pine Ridge Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Aggravated Sexual Abuse

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Pine Ridge man charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child was sentenced on April 20, 2012 by Chief U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Gillman Roddy Long, aka Dave Gillman Long, age 46, was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay $200 to the Victim Assistance Fund.

Between January and March 2008, near Pine Ridge, Long engaged in sexual acts with a child who had not attained the age of 16. He was convicted by a jury after a federal court trial on July 7, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins prosecuted the case.

Long was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
