Suspect Arrested in Connection with Two Knoxville-Area Bank Robberies

The Knoxville Division of the FBI, Chief Jim Washam of the Kingston Police Department, and Chief James Webb of the Loudon Police Department announce the arrest of the individual suspected of robbing two banks in the Knoxville area.

Billy Joe Dugard, age 36, of Crothersville, Indiana, was arrested on local charges and without incident on May 2, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio. Dugard is suspected of robbing ta BB&T Bank branch in Loudon, Tennessee and a Bank of America branch in Kingston, Tennessee on May 1, 2012. Dugard will later be charged in federal court in Knoxville with two counts of bank robbery.

This matter was a joint investigation of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (comprised of the FBI, KPD, and KSCO), the Kingston Police Department, and the Loudon Police Department. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
