Leslie James Coe Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

U.S. Attorney’s Office August 27, 2013
  • Special Agent Vicki D. Anderson (216) 522-1400

Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for the Northern District of Ohio, in conjunction with Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene, announces the arrest of Leslie James Coe, 67 years old.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for Coe on August 26, 2013, based on evidence obtained during an investigation initiated in March 2013. A search warrant was executed at his residence on August 23, 2013, by agents from the FBI-Youngstown Resident Agency and deputies from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

Information developed indicated that Coe had knowingly received and distributed child pornography that had been mailed or used any means of facility of interstate or foreign commerce, shipped or transported in or affected interstate or foreign commerce by any means, including by computer, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 2252A(a)(2).

This case was investigated by the FBI and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

If convicted, the defendant’s sentence will be determined by the court after review of factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal records, if any; the defendant’s role in the offense; and the characteristics of the violation.

A complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
