Canton Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges

U.S. Attorney’s Office November 08, 2011
  • Northern District of Ohio (216) 622-3600

Timothy B. Israel, 38, of Canton, Ohio, was sentenced today to 70 years in prison after previously pleading guilty to three counts: receiving visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct; distributing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and production of visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

“The conduct that this defendant engaged in was profoundly disturbing, and today’s sentence reflects that,” Dettelbach said.

From on or about December 31, 2007, through on or about August 20, 2009, Israel received visual depictions of child pornography through the use of a computer. Israel also utilized the computer to distribute visual depictions of child pornography between the dates of November 4, 2008 and July 17, 2009. In addition, Israel produced visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and transmitted the images through interstate commerce, according to the charges.

Israel is currently in state prison for assaulting the child that the child pornography charges relate to, according to court documents.

This case is being prosecuted by Northern District of Ohio Assistant United States Attorney Carol M. Skutnik. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Canton Resident Agency.
