  • District of Maine (207) 780-3257

PORTLAND, ME—United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Christina Torres-York, 40, of Warren, Maine was sentenced yesterday by Judge D. Brock Hornby in U.S. District Court in Portland to 33 months’ imprisonment to be followed by five years of supervised release in connection with her conviction for embezzlement and misappropriation of the funds of Camden National Bank. Torres-York, a former loan officer at the bank, also was ordered to pay restitution of $595,308 to Camden National, and $29,705 to another victim. York pled guilty to the charge on January 11, 2011.

According to court records and testimony, beginning in 2007 and continuing into 2009, Torres-York made several unauthorized transactions in many customer accounts, causing unauthorized withdrawals or draws on the lines of credit from some customers and making unauthorized loans to other customers. She also admitted to converting around $95,000 to her personal use.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Maine State Police.
