Springfield Man Sentenced for Cocaine Distribution

BOSTON—A Springfield man was sentenced today in federal court for drug distribution offenses.

RAYON DANCY, 24, was sentenced by United States District Judge William G. Young to 27 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine and marijuana in Springfield to a cooperating witness in February 2010. Dancy plead guilty on June 6, 2011.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz; Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation - Boston Field Division; Colonel Marian J. McGovern, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police; and Springfield Police Commissioner William J. Fitchet made the announcement today. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd E. Newhouse of Ortiz’s Springfield Office.
