Boston Community Leaders Graduate from FBI’s Citizens Academy

FBI Boston June 04, 2009

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Warren T. Bamford announced today the graduation of 40 business and community leaders from the 2009 session of the Boston FBI's Citizens Academy this evening.

The six-week Citizens Academy program provided community leaders an inside look at the FBI's organizational and operational parameters, while strengthening the existing relationships between the FBI and the community. This year's group is the 13th class to graduate from the program since the Boston Field Office launched Citizens Academy in 1998.

SAC Bamford stated, "I want to thank the members of the Citizen's Academy class of 2009 for taking the time out of their busy schedules and participating in this exciting six week program. The relationships cultivated with these community leaders will serve as a voice for the FBI within the communities we serve."

Edward C. Freni, Director of Aviation at Logan International Airport and a member of the 2009 FBI Citizens Academy graduating class, expressed the views of his classmates, "I was impressed by the professionalism of the agents and the course. Each subject opened an understanding of the challenges the men and women of the Bureau face every day. I truly enjoyed every aspect of the Academy."
