Man Wanted in Murder Kidnaps Daughter, Flees Maryland

***UPDATE: Timothy Virts and Caitlyn Virts were located in Florence, South Carolina on March 7, 2014. Virts was taken into custody by law enforcement without incident. Caitlyn is back with her family in the Baltimore area.***

The Maryland Child Exploitation Task Force and Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with a murder in Dundalk, Maryland, on March 6, 2014. He is believed to have kidnapped his 11-year-old daughter after the murder.

Timothy Howard Virts is 39, 6’3” tall, and weighs about 280 pounds. Caitlin Marie Virts is about 5’0” tall and may be wearing prescription glasses. Virts may be driving a 1999 black Dodge Durango with Maryland license plate 5AJ4458. The United States Attorney’s Office in Maryland has charged Virts with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Virts should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see Virts or Caitlin, please call 911 immediately—do not approach them. You can also report any information regarding their whereabouts to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
