Seeking Public’s Assistance in Identifying Armed Bank Robber

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin, FBI Atlanta, requests assistance from the public in identifying and locating the person responsible for today’s armed robbery of the Suntrust Bank, located at 1165 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, Georgia.

On Friday, April 15, 2011, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a lone black male entered the Suntrust Bank, 1165 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, Georgia, armed with an assault-type weapon. 

The robber then grabbed a bank employee and placed the weapon against the employee while ordering him to open a side door leading to the teller stations of the bank. The robber, however, was unsuccessful in gaining access behind the teller stations and subsequently fled the bank.

The robber was seen departing in an older model black Oldsmobile.

The robber is described as being a black male, early 20s to early 30s in age, 5’6”-5’10” in height, weighing approximately 175 lbs. He was wearing black clothing and brandished an assault-type weapon.
