Woman Arrested in Connection with Albuquerque Bank Robbery

Maria Stovall, 49, of Albuquerque, has been arrested in connection with the bank robbery on September 27, 2013, of a Washington Federal bank branch at 1301 Wyoming Blvd. NE in Albuquerque.

Stovall is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.

Witnesses said a woman walked into the bank at approximately 12:30 p.m. and presented a teller a note demanding money.

The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of money.

A bank employee pursued the woman to nearby Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, where hospital security detained her.

Albuquerque Police Officers arrested the woman and turned her over to the FBI.

No other information will be released until after Stovall’s court appearance.

The public is reminded that all persons are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
