The San Diego Division honors North County Lifeline (NC Lifeline) for its efforts in support of victims of human trafficking.

NC Lifeline offers more than 40 programs focused on human trafficking prevention and intervention, gang prevention and intervention, child abuse and domestic violence treatment, parenting classes, positive youth development, transitional housing for former foster children, employment assistance, financial coaching, mediation and legal advice, and volunteer opportunities. Populations NC Lifeline serves include at-risk youth and those with mental health disorders, victims of human trafficking, low-income families, foster children, and families with histories of domestic violence or child abuse.

In 2011, in partnership with the North County Human Trafficking Task Force (NCHTTF), NC Lifeline established Project LIFE—Living in Freedom from Exploitationto respond to the urgent needs of 35 local teenaged human trafficking victims rescued when NCHTTF took down a child prostitution ring. Through Project LIFE, victims receive individual therapy and family therapy, if appropriate, to help them rebuild their lives, avoid becoming re-victimized, and pursue a self-reliant lifestyle.
