FBI and Oceanside Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Bank of America Robber

The FBI and Oceanside Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Bank of America, located inside of the Albertsons Grocery Story, 4150 Oceanside Boulevard, Oceanside, California, on Saturday, December 31, 2011.

On Saturday, December 31, 2011, at approximately 3:05 p.m., the Bank of America, located inside of the Albertsons Grocery Store, 4150 Oceanside Boulevard, Oceanside, California, was robbed by an unknown male using a demand note. The suspect handed the teller a demand note and said he had a gun. The suspect also apologized and said he needed the money for a sick family member. The teller complied with the suspects demand and provided the suspect with a sum of money along with a dye pack.

The suspect exited the bank at which time the dye pack exploded. The suspect dropped the money and dye pack, and fled the scene on foot. The suspect may be driving a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee. No injuries were reported and no weapon observed.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male
Race: White
Age: Approximately 50 years old
Height: Approximately 5’5” tall
Weight: Approximately 160 lbs.
Build: Medium
Eyes: Unknown
Hair/Coloring: Grey, mostly bald
Clothing: Green long-sleeved shirt with three buttons at neck, blue shorts, white tennis shoes, and dark glasses
Vehicle: Not confirmed, possibly a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee
