FBI and San Diego Sheriff’s Department Arrest Ronald Willette as a Result of a Bank Robbery Investigation

San Diego FBI Special Agent in Charge Keith Slotter announces the arrest of Ronald Willette, 54, as a result of an ongoing bank robbery investigation. Willette was taken into federal custody at approximately 1:40 p.m. in the 100 block of Plaza, in Solana Beach. A witness in the area recognized Willette from a previous media release and contacted the Sheriff’s Department. San Diego Sheriff’s Department personnel responded and positively identified Willette shortly after he attempted to rob the Bank of America, located at 405 S. 101 Highway, in Solana Beach, CA.

It is anticipated that Willette will be booked into the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he will await his initial appearance in San Diego Superior Court. Willette will be charged in connection with the following robberies:

March 31, 2010 - Bank of America – 1199 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA
April 28, 2010 - Bank of America – 1199 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA
June 9, 2010 - Bank of America – 405 S. 101 Highway, Solana Beach, CA
