Worley Man Indicted for Assaulting Two People on Coeur d'Alene Reservation

U.S. Attorney's Office May 18, 2011
  • District of Idaho (208) 334-1211

Timothy R. Allen, Jr., 19, of Worley, Idaho, was indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury in Coeur d'Alene for assault with a deadly weapon, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. An arraignment date has not been set. Allen is in state custody.

The two-count indictment alleges that on or about March 12, 2011, on the Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation, defendant Allen intentionally assaulted Daniel J. Hutchins with a firearm by forcefully pushing the weapon into Hutchins' body and verbally threatening him. Count two charges Allen with intentionally assaulting Sharleen Archer by pointing the firearm at her and verbally threatening her.

The charge of assault with a deadly weapon is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release on each count.

The case was investigated by Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence. The person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
