Armed Robbery at Sandy Bank
FIST Offers up to $1,000 Reward

The FBI and the Sandy Police Department are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for a robbery at a Sandy, Oregon, bank at 3:04 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. The masked man walked into the U.S. Bank branch, located at 38561 Proctor Boulevard, and displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun. After demanding and receiving cash, he was seen leaving the area on foot.

The Oregon Financial Institutions Security Taskforce (FIST) is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the man responsible.

Witnesses describe the man as:

Race: White
Age: 30s
Height: 5’8”—5’9”
Weight/Build: Thin

Clothing: Black mask covering nose and mouth, black gloves, and a hooded blue jacket with red and white horizontal stripes across the breast

No one was hurt, and no shots were fired.

Oregon FIST is a cooperative effort made up of representatives from banks, savings and loans, and credit unions, as well as representatives from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The purpose of FIST is to help reduce crimes.
