“Benjamins Bandit” Hits Again, FBI Asks for Public’s Help

A man dubbed the “Benjamins Bandit” is suspected of robbing his fifth bank today, Friday, June 26, 2009. The FBI is releasing pictures of the man suspected in this string of robberies and is asking the public to help identify and locate him. The robbery today happened at 11:18 a.m. at the United Advantage Credit Union located at 1430 N. Killingsworth in Portland. In this robbery, like the others, the man walked in, approached a teller, demanded cash—but only in 100 dollar bills. He does not threaten a weapon. He is also suspected in the following robberies:
- Thursday, 4/16/09 at 11:00 a.m.—Riverview Community Bank, 10401 NE Halsey, Portland
- Friday, 5/22/09 at 1:00 p.m.—Consolidated Federal Credit Union, 2021 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland
- Saturday, 5/30/09 at 2:56 p.m.—Wells Fargo Bank, 4233 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland
- Friday, 6/12/09 at 2:15 p.m.—Bank of the West, 905 NE Halsey, Portland
Witnesses describe the suspect as
- Black man
- Age: 30s
- Height” 5’10”-6’0”
Clothing: Always wears some kind of baseball cap, sunglasses and the same black leather jacket, and diamond-stud earrings
