Jennifer Thacker—who also addressed the crowd of hundreds of family members and friends of officers killed in the line of duty, fellow officers, and law enforcement supporters—is national president of Concerns of Police Survivors, a group dedicated to helping families and co-workers of slain officers rebuild their lives.

The May 13 ceremony was the 21st annual Candlelight Vigil held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which now holds the names of 18,661 law enforcement officers from all 50 states who have died in the line of duty throughout U.S. history.
