David W. Welker, Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Division of the FBI, and Warren Riley, NOPD Superintendent, announce today’s attempted robbery of the Liberty Bank located at 7200 Crowder Boulevard.

At approximately 11:25 a.m. today, two black males, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached the bank’s front entrance. Security devices prevented the men from entering the bank. The would-be robbers were seen getting into a late model silver Kia Rondo and traveled to the 8700 block of Scottsdale Street close to Benson Street where they got into a dark, possibly black, automobile and left the area. The men were further described as wearing black bandanas over their faces, and one was wearing a black shirt and the other wearing a white shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 504-816-3000. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association (MOBSA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000. for information leading to the arrest and indictment of these attempted bank robbers.
