Armed Robbery of Provident Bank Branch in Parsippany

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the subject who robbed the Provident Bank branch located at 401 Smith Road in Parsippany, New Jersey, on August 27, 2012.

At approximately 9:25 a.m., an armed subject entered the Provident Bank and demanded cash. The weapon he was carrying is described as a silver, semi-automatic pistol.

The subject is described as a black male, husky build, 5’10” tall, 230 to 240 pounds. He was wearing layered clothing and a gray, knit mask. The subject appeared to be famiilar with banking procedures.

A second accomplice, described as a black male, was observed with the subject.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery is urged to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200 or the FBI at 973-792-3000.

Citizens are reminded they should never attempt to apprehend a fugitive and in an emergency should call 911.
