White River Man Sentenced for Sexual Contact with a Minor

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a White River, South Dakota man charged with two counts of sexual contact with a minor was sentenced on March 5, 2012 by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Lloyd Cleveland Larvie, age 54, was sentenced to 33 months in custody, five years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund for each count. The defendant was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
Larvie was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 12, 2011 and pled guilty to the charge on December 13, 2011.
The conviction stems from two separate incidents in 2009 and 2010.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher.
Larvie was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
