On April 14, 2011, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Anchor Bank branch located at 3950 Vinewood Lane North in Plymouth, Minnesota, was robbed by two masked men. The robbers entered the bank brandishing black semi-automatic handguns. They forced two bank tellers and another bank employee to open the vault. The employees complied with the demand and allowed the robbers access to the vault. The robbers then ordered the employees to the floor while they took money from the vault. The robbers fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money carried in a black backpack. A witness outside the bank observed the robbers leaving the scene in a red Chevrolet Tahoe. No one was injured during the bank robbery.

Both robbers are described as black males and both displayed guns. One robber is described as being about six feet tall and weighing about 250 pounds. He wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, a mask, and gloves. The other robber is described as being about 5’9” tall with a slender build. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black mask, and gloves. He carried the black backpack.

The robbers are also believed to be responsible for the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank in Champlin on August 4, 2010; the U.S. Bank in Plymouth on September 13, 2010; the U.S. Bank in Anoka on November 5, 2010; and the InterBank in Roseville on February 9, 2011. They are also believed to be responsible for attempted robberies at the TCF Bank in Chanhassen on August 30, 2010 and the TCF Bank in Lakeville on September 2, 2010.

On November 5, 2010, U.S. Bank announced it was offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for these robberies.
