Federal Grand Jury Returns Indictments

MADISON, WI—A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin sitting in Madison returned the following indictments yesterday. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Neillsville Man Charged with Bankruptcy Fraud and Witness Tampering
Brett Pohle, 45, Neillsville, Wisconsin, is charged with concealing assets in a bankruptcy proceeding, falsifying a record in a bankruptcy proceeding, and witness tampering. The indictment alleges that in April 2008, he concealed from creditors and the U.S. Trustee nine firearms and a camper, and that in July 2008, he provided a bill of sale containing false information. The indictment also alleges that in February 2011, he corruptly persuaded another person with the intent to influence the testimony of that person before a federal grand jury.
If convicted, Pohle faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison on each count of concealing assets and falsifying a record, and 20 years on the witness tampering charge. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance of the Office of the United States Trustee. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meredith P. Duchemin.
New Auburn Man Faces Additional Charges Related to Theft from Fort McCoy
Justin J. Waterhouse, 21, New Auburn, Wisconsin, is charged in a superseding indictment with stealing property of the United States and three counts of selling property of the United States. The indictment alleges that in February 2012, he stole night vision monoculars and gun sights with an aggregate value in excess of $1,000. The indictment also alleges that on three occasions between February and April 2012, he sold some of these stolen items to other individuals.
Waterhouse was originally charged in an indictment returned by the grand jury on May 30, 2012, with theft and one count of conveying without authority a thing of value belonging to the United States. In February 2012, Waterhouse was a member of the United States Army.
In convicted, Waterhouse faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison on each count. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, and Dunn County Sheriff’s Department. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin F. Burke.
Man Charged with Illegally Reentering the U.S.
Eloy Flores-Zuniga, 27, a citizen of Mexico found in Lakes Mills, Wisconsin, is charged with reentering the United States after previously being deported. The indictment alleges that he was found in the United States on February 1, 2013.
If convicted, Flores-Zuniga faces a maximum penalty of two years in federal prison. The charge against him is the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Reinhard.
