Today, the Knoxville Division of the FBI launched an electronic billboard campaign spanning multiple states to identify its most recent serial bank robber. The individual is suspected of being involved in the robberies of at least 18 banks throughout a dozen states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New York, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

“Working together with Lamar Outdoor Advertising and other electronic billboard owners, we now have the capability to instantly display a wanted suspect’s face to an audience of thousands throughout multiple states. This case is an emblematic example of the importance of public/private sector alliances in bringing criminals to justice in today’s information age” said Richard Lambert, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Field Office.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or their local law enforcement office. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, weighing 210-230 pounds. Typically, the man enters the victim bank, approaches the teller counter and hands the teller a note demanding money. During some of the robberies, he has threatened to have a weapon. Additionally, the suspect may be driving a silver sport utility vehicle.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this individual. Please visit the Knoxville Division website at www.knoxville.fbi.gov to view current photos of the suspect. This matter is being investigated jointly by multiple FBI Field Offices as well as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Knoxville Police Department, as part of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
