Reward Offered in Schaumburg Bank Robbery

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), today announced that a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone having any information which leads to the identification of the individual believed responsible for the armed takeover robbery of the Parkway Bank and Trust, 1600 North Roselle Road, Schaumburg, Illinois, on November 22, 2010.

According to witnesses, a lone robber entered the bank armed with a handgun, just after 5:30 p.m. He then approached the teller counter and orally announced a robbery. After ordering the employees to the ground, the robber instructed one of the employees to get money from the vault, while another employee was told to get money from the teller drawers. Throughout the incident, the robber had his gun pointed at the employees and repeatedly threatened them with harm, if his instructions were not followed. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber then fled the bank on foot.

The robber is described as a white male, 5’10” - 6’0” tall, thin build, 20 to 30 years of age. He wore a black jacket with hood drawn up over his head, black gloves, a navy blue/white bandana over face, baggy blue jeans, white shoes, and a dark baseball cap. The robber also carried a small black shoulder bag with him into the bank, into which he placed the stolen cash. The gun was described as a black semi-automatic handgun.
