Public’s Help Sought in Search for “Schiller Park Bank Robber”

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual depicted on the below wanted flyer, dubbed the “Schiller Park Bank Robber,” who is responsible for the attempted robbery of a bank in the Schiller Park neighborhood.

The attempted bank robbery took place on August 2, 2011, at the TCF Bank branch, located at 9343 W. Irving Park Road.

The robber first struck at the TCF Bank at approximately 9:25 a.m. According to witnesses, the robber entered the bank, proceeded to the customer counter where he took a withdrawal slip, and wrote out a demand note. The robber then took the demand note to the teller counter and presented it to a teller. The teller began asking the robber questions about his account at the bank. The robber replied he did not have an account at the bank, and began mumbling incoherently. He then grabbed his demand note and left the bank without receiving any cash. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The “Schiller Park Bank Robber” is described as a Hispanic or Mediterranean/male; 25 - 35 years of age, 5’9” - 5’10 tall, medium build. He wore a brown and white plaid shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses, and a brown beret with a white stripe.

This case is being investigated by the Chicago FBI and the Schiller Park Police Department.
