TCF Bandit Strikes Again

FBI Chicago February 03, 2010
  • Special Agent Garrett Croon (312) 829-1199

A serial bank robber dubbed the “TCF Bandit” struck again on Monday of this week. He is believed to have robbed the TCF Bank branch located at 5545 South Brainard in Countryside, of an undisclosed amount of money. As he has in previous robberies, he approached a teller and handed her a note announcing a robbery and demanding money from her drawer. He claimed to be armed with a gun and threatened the teller with harm, but no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

This brings the number of banks he has robbed to twelve (12), dating to February of 2007. Bank surveillance photos from the most recent theft are below. Additional information about this case and other unsolved Chicago area bank robberies is available on-line at the Bandit Tracker website, www.bandittrackerchicago.com.
