ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin, FBI Atlanta, on behalf of the FBI-led Safe Child Task Force, announces the following arrest:

On Tuesday, October 12, 2010, Christopher Carroll, age 25, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested at Buford, Georgia after traveling from Charlotte, N.C. to meet with what he thought were two underage boys for the purposes of having sex. Carroll, a store manager at a Charlotte area CVS/Pharmacy store, was arrested by FBI agents and officers assigned to the Atlanta FBI Safe Child Task Force and has been charged via federal criminal complaint on charges related to the attempted sexual exploitation of a minor child. Carroll came to the attention of law enforcement officers and agents after a series of “chats” over the Internet indicated Carroll’s sexual interest in minor children.

The public are reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
