Two People Sentenced for the Robbery of a Shelby County Bank

ST. LOUIS, MO—Savannah Barger was sentenced today to 32 months in prison involving the armed-robbery of the Community State Bank in Clarence, Missouri, on January 17, 2013. Barger, 26, Atlanta, Missouri, previously pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery. Co-defendant Cody Barber 26, Centerville, Iowa; previously pled guilty to bank robbery and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. Cody Barber was sentenced last October to 97 months in prison. Both defendants appeared before United States District Judge Henry Autrey in St. Louis.

This case was investigated by the Kirksville Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Shelby County and Macon County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Macon Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney John Bird handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
