ST. LOUIS—Dean C. Bryant, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI St. Louis Division, has announced the arrest of Vincent S. White on a charge of kidnapping. White, 47, of Jefferson County, is accused of abducting his 43-year-old former girlfriend.

On Monday, November 25, 2013, she was reported missing to the Arnold Police Department by her mother. Later in the evening, the female victim managed to call her mother from Oklahoma and said White took her against her will and that they were headed to Mexico. The FBI discovered White likely traveled through Oklahoma and Texas to New Mexico.

Approximately 24 hours after the female victim was reported missing, White was arrested and the victim was rescued. White's vehicle was stopped in Lea County in New Mexico by task force officers of the FBI Albuquerque Division, with assistance from the Lea County Sheriff’s Office and Hobbs Police Department.

This morning, the FBI charged White with one count of kidnapping via criminal complaint. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in New Mexico next Monday (December 2, 2013).

As is always the case, charges set forth in a criminal complaint are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and proven guilty.
