Huntington Bank Robber Sentenced to Nearly Six Years in Federal Prison

HUNTINGTON, WV—William Spencer Farley, who robbed the City National Bank on Route 60 in Huntington in July 2013, was sentenced today to five years and 10 months in federal prison, announced U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin. On July 26, 2013, Farley pointed a pistol at a bank teller and demanded cash. Farley fled the bank with $3,007. Farley, who was captured on camera at the bank, was arrested shortly thereafter and confessed to robbing the bank in a statement to law enforcement. Farley pleaded guilty to the bank robbery on October 7, 2013.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Cabell County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams handled the prosecution. The sentence was imposed by Chief United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers.
