Verona Woman Pleads Guilty to Participating in Armed Bank Robbery as Getaway Driver

PITTSBURGH—A Verona woman pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of armed bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Kasey Hicks, 27, of 5801 Saltsburg Road, Verona, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti on December 5, 2012.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that, on June 26, 2010, Kasey Hicks and Britton Davis robbed the S&T Bank located at 4251 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville, Pennsylvania. As a result of the robbery, Hicks and Davis obtained a total amount of $10,033.30. Hicks acted as the getaway driver, leading the police on a high-speed chase after the robbery.
Judge Conti scheduled sentencing for 3:30 p.m. on March 28, 2013. The law provides for a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Murrysville Police Department, and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Hicks.
