Philadelphia Man Charged with Armed Robbery of Metro PCS Store

William Cooper, 22, of Philadelphia, was charged today by indictment with the January 10, 2012 armed robbery of the Metro PCS store located at 9 South 60th Street in Philadelphia, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. In addition, the indictment alleges that Cooper willfully disobeyed a court that established conditions for his release on June 10, 2010 and November 17, 2011 in another criminal matter.

If convicted of the offenses, Cooper faces a total maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years’ imprisonment, a $750,000 fine, five years’ supervised release, and a $300 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anita Eve.
