Philadelphia Man Indicted for Two Gunpoint Robberies

Jerome Edwards was charged today by indictment with two counts each of robbery which interferes with interstate commerce and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence , announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that between August 16, 2011 and August 18, 2011, Edwards committed gunpoint robberies at two Philadelphia fast food restaurants, the Wendy’s located at 5534 Wayne Avenue and the McDonald’s located at 2211 Stenton Avenue.

If convicted the defendant faces a total maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory sentence of 32 years consecutive to all other sentences, five years’ supervised release and a $400 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Philadelphia Police Department and the United States Marshals Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
