Two Norristown Residents Charged with Five Armed Robberies

Andrew Chronister and Faheem Yuself Murray were charged today by indictment with conpiracy to commit robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, five counts of robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, and five counts of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Chronister is also charged with two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and two counts of convicted felon in possession of a stolen firearm.
The indictment charges that on November 11, 2009, and November 12, 2009, in Montgomery and Chester Counties, the defendants conspired to commit and committed five armed robberies of convenience stores and gas stations. According to the indictment, Chronister stole the revolver which he and Murray used to commit the robberies. The indictment further alleges that during each of the robberies, Chronister carried and brandished the loaded revolver and the robbers escaped with varying amounts of United States currency.

If convicted of all charges, each defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, including a mandatory minimum 107 years consecutive to any other sentence imposed, fines, and five years’ supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Pottstown, Norristown, Spring City, Chester Springs, East Vincent, and Phoenixville Police Departments, the Montgomery and Chester County District Attorney’s Offices, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Nathan J. Schadler of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
