Plain Jane Bandit Sought for Six Robberies; Reward Offered for Information
Four of the Robberies Occurred in 24 Hours

The FBI and local law enforcement officers in Whittier, Moreno Valley, Buena Park, and Wildomar are seeking information leading to the identity of an unidentified female bank robber known as the “Plain Jane” Bandit.

Officials with U.S. Bank are offering a reward of up to $10,000 in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Plain Jane Bandit.

Late in the day on Monday, July 23, the suspect known as the Plain Jane Bandit was linked to a bank robbery and an attempted bank robbery in the city of Moreno Valley. The following day, a suspect described as the Plain Jane Bandit robbed banks in the cities of Buena Park and Wildomar. During the most recent robbery in Wildomar, an unidentified female meeting the description of the suspect demanded cash at a bank branch located inside of a grocery store. The suspect, who is seen in bank surveillance photos wearing sunglasses, indicated to a victim teller that a second individual was outside of the bank; however, no accomplice was seen.

During the robberies, the suspect uses written and verbal demands and indicates that someone, possibly an accomplice, is waiting for her outside the bank. Witnesses have described the suspect as an Hispanic female between 5’3”-5’5” in height, 150-170 lbs., between 35-40 years old, and possibly driving what was described by witnesses as a four-door, silver vehicle.

During an interview with a witness in one of the earlier robberies, the suspect’s appearance was described as that of a “plain jane.” Further, witnesses have seen a possible scar below or next to her right eye, as well as a possible tattoo on her right shoulder area.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact their nearest FBI office or dial 911.

This investigation is being conducted by detectives and officers with the Whittier Police Department; Moreno Valley Police Department; Buena Park Police Department; and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
