Muscle Shirt Bandit Sought

A joint FBI/LAPD Task Force are seeking information from the public that leads to the identity of a bank robber described as an Hispanic male and known to law enforcement as the “Muscle Shirt Bandit.” The unidentified male has been linked to one robbery and two attempted robberies last weekend. The attempts on Saturday were conducted minutes apart at neighboring banks. In photos being released to the press, the robber is wearing a light colored tank top and baseball cap; witnesses said he carried a dark colored backpack. Witnesses described the robber as having visible tattoos, including a tattoo on the back of his neck, arms, and chest.
The Muscle Shirt Bandit has been linked to the following bank robberies/attempts:
- 9/24 4:40 p.m. U.S. Bank 13372 E. Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs
- 9/25 12:45 p.m. Citibank 3530 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles
- 9/25 12:50 p.m. Wells Fargo 3550 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles
The Muscle Shirt Bandit has been further described by witnesses as follows:
- Height: 5’8” - 5’10”
- Weight: 180-185
- Age: 35-42
- Tattoos: “Down4theSickness” (on back of neck), multiple tattoos on arms/chest not further described
