The FBI and the Consulate of Mexico have partnered to host a Community Relations Executive Seminar Training (CREST) for leaders of the Hispanic community. The CREST program, which is topic driven, allows the FBI to partner with organizations to develop specialized training seminars that will be helpful to the group and its members. FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Michael Kaste stated, “The FBI relies on our relationships with our community partners not only to educate the community at large, but to keep our communities safe.”
This program serves as a means to exchange information between the FBI and the participating communities while exposing leaders to FBI personnel and operations, building mutual trust and goodwill. Through this exchange, CREST raises awareness on key issues and establishes new partnerships and initiatives while identifying crime problems not currently being addressed that affect specific communities. Topics discussed and presented today included civil rights, hate crimes, identity theft, and a general overview of the FBI.
