Tuscumbia Man Indicted for Armed Bank Robbery, Attempted Armed Bank Robberies

JEFFERSON CITY, MO—David M. Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Tuscumbia, Missouri man was indicted by a federal grand jury today for the armed robbery and attempted armed robbery of First State Bank in Iberia, Missouri, and for the attempted armed robbery of Central Bank in Tuscumbia.

David Brian Krzysik, 48, of Tuscumbia, was charged in a four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Today’s indictment alleges that Krzysik used a firearm in an attempt to rob First State Bank in Iberia on March 12, 2012. Krzysik is also charged with using a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. According to the indictment, Krzysik carried a Jiminez 9mm pistol during the robbery attempt.

Krzysik is also charged with using a firearm to steal $3,651 in the armed robbery of First State Bank on March 15, 2012. On the same day, the indictment alleges, Krzysik used a firearm in an attempt to rob Central Bank in Tuscumbia.

Ketchmark cautioned that the charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Lynn. It was investigated by the FBI, the Miller County, Missouri Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
