Olathe Man Charged in Lenexa Bank Robbery

KANSAS CITY, KS—Isha Jackson, 34, Olathe, Kan., has been charged with robbing a bank in Lenexa, Kan., U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said today.
Jackson is charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., with one count of bank robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during the robbery. According to the complaint, on Sept. 21, 2009, Jackson entered Wachovia Bank at 12000 West 95th in Lenexa, Kan., wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black sunglasses, jeans and white tennis shoes. He pointed a silver revolver at tellers and demanded money.
He left the bank driving a silver Mazda sedan. He fled from police until his car stopped after striking a large real estate sign near 87th Street.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on the bank robbery charge, and a penalty of not less than 7 years and not more than life to be served consecutively to other sentences and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. The Lenexa Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation worked on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Leon Patton is prosecuting.
In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments filed merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
