Statement Regarding Ute Reservation Incident

FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge James F. Yacone is releasing the following statement regarding the incident that occurred on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation, on Sunday, May 22, 2011.

“Under the Major Crimes Act, the FBI is conducting a death investigation concerning the death of Spencer Posey and the events that occurred on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation on May 22, 2011. Pursuant to policy, the FBI does not discuss the details of a pending investigation or comment on a time frame in which the investigation will be completed. The FBI’s responsibility is to complete a comprehensive investigation and provide the results of that investigation to the United States Attorney’s Office District of Colorado to review.”
