Portland Man Indicted on Bank Robbery Charge

PORTLAND, ME—United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty, II announced today that Matthieu O’Rourke, a/k/a Tony Angeless, age 35, of Portland, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Portland and charged with bank robbery. The charge arises from the September 27, 2013 robbery of a Key Bank branch in Portland, Maine.
On October 30, 2013, O’Rourke was arrested in Florida. He made an initial appearance in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and will be returned to Maine for arraignment on the indictment at a later date.
The defendant faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
This case was investigated by the Portland Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the United States Marshals Service.
An indictment is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
