The Mobile Division honors the Mobile Child Advocacy Center (MCAC) for providing services to more than 1,200 children who have suffered physical and sexual abuse.

The MCAC’s area of responsibility covers all of Mobile County, Alabama, with an estimated population of more than 400,000. On average, the MCAC receives approximately 500 new cases involving child physical and sexual abuse each year. The organization provides a wide range of services, including counseling, victim trial preparation, and outreach for child abuse and exploitation awareness and prevention.

The MCAC also provides coordination and working space for law enforcement representatives from numerous local law enforcement agencies, including the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and the Mobile Police Department. Since 2011, the MCAC has participated in FBI Mobile Division’s Crimes Against Children initiative. Through this partnership, the MCAC has referred numerous cases of child exploitation with a federal nexus to the FBI.

The MCAC has proven to be a tremendous resource to the citizens of Mobile County, providing unrivaled resources and services to children and their non-offending family members.
