Man Pleads Guilty in Connection with ATM Solutions Robbery

ST. LOUIS—The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that Robert Oliphant pled guilty to charges involving his assistance in concealing stolen money from the August 2010 robbery of ATM Solutions.
Robert Oliphant, Buffalo, Missouri; his brother Eddie Oliphant, St. Louis County; and their nephew Jacobi Oliphant, St. Louis County, were each indicted in January by a federal grand jury on one felony count of accessory after the fact. Robert Oliphant appeared today for his plea before United States District Judge Catherine D. Perry, who set sentencing for June 26, 2012.
Eddie and Jacobi Oliphant await trial later this month.
If convicted, this charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or fines up to $125,000. In determining the actual sentences, a judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Tom Mehan is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
As is always the case, charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty.
