Johnstown Woman Sentenced for Conspiring to Distribute Drugs

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylania has been sentenced in federal court to 12 months in prison and five years’ supervised release on her conviction of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Patricia Ann Hawes, 47.
According to information presented to the court, from Aug. 19, 2009, to Nov. 4, 2009, Hawes, along with other co-defendants, conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base.
Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hawes.
