Man Pleads Guilty to Distributing Crack

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 30, 2010, that Lewendo Lamont Teague, a resident of Sharon, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court, on June 29, 2010, to a charge of knowingly, intentionally, and unlawfully distributing and possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as crack, a Schedule II controlled substance.

Teague, age 38, formerly of Sharon, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Court Judge Arthur J. Schwab.

In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney Ross E. Lenhardt advised the court that Teague was recorded selling crack cocaine on two different dates in the Farrell/Sharon area.

Judge Schwab scheduled sentencing for January 28, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of not less than 10 years and up to life in prison, a fine of $4,000,000.00, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Pending sentencing, the court continued the detention of Teague.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Sharon Police Department jointly conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Lewendo Lamont Teague and dozens of other drug dealers from that area.
