Judge Gives Johnstown Man Prison Time for Selling Crack Cocaine

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 21, 2010, that on June 17, 2010, James Marrell Britt, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to two years in prison, plus 12 months of home confinement with electronic monitoring, and three years supervised release, on his conviction for violating federal narcotics laws.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Britt, age 31.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines, on November 9, 2006, Britt distributed less than five grams of cocaine base, commonly known as “crack.”
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Britt.
