Johnstown Cousins Sentenced to Prison for Dealing Drugs

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, February 3, 2010, that Albert Spicer and Kallah S. Spicer, residents of the Coopersdale Homes, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, have been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown on their convictions for violating federal narcotics laws.

United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence of five years’ imprisonment and five years’ supervised release on Albert Spicer, age 22, and the sentence of 37 months’ imprisonment and five years’ supervised release on Kallah S. Spicer, age 22.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., from January 2007 to August 7, 2007, the Spicers, together with four co-defendants, conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and five grams or more of cocaine base, commonly known as “crack.”  In addition, on August 6 2007, Albert Spicer distributed less than five grams of cocaine base and also distributed less than 100 grams of heroin. On June 13, 2007, Kallah S. Spicer distributed less than 100 grams of heroin, and on August 7, 2007, he possessed less than 100 grams of heroin with the intent to distribute it.

Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Johnstown Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Albert Spicer and Kallah S. Spicer.
